The Veterinarians and Staff

	Melanie deHaan, DVM - Executive Director Dr. deHaan is the founder and Executive Director of Shelter Outreach Services (SOS) of Ohio. She is a recent graduate from Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. deHaan was the founder and president of the University's Shelter Medicine Club, a co-chair of the Community Service Committee, and received the American Veterinary Medical Association's award for Outstanding Senior Service her graduating year. Dr. deHaan is a member of the OVMA, AVMA, and Association of Shelter Veterinarians. She lives in Johnstown, Ohio with her 8 dogs, 5 cats, and two horses.
	Meg Z Garrett, CVT - Head Technician Meg graduated from OSU in 1993 with a bachelors in Communications. In 2000 she graduated from Columbus State Community College with an Associates in Veterinary Technology. For the last 5 years Meg has been working as a cardiology technician at MedVet Medical Center for Pets. She has also worked as an emergency techinician, ICU technician, and has spent several years working in private practice. Meg is a proud mother of 6 rescued dogs and cats.
