How does it work?
In order to provide spay/neuter services. SOS of Ohio works in conjunction with local shelters and humane organizations in the central Ohio area by traveling from county to county on a rotating basis.
Which animals qualify?
- dogs and cats from families of low income (please discuss income requirements with your local shelter)
- shelter dogs and cats and other stray/unclaimed dogs and cats
- feral cats, barn cats, cat colonies
- dogs and cats from rescue organizations
How do I schedule an animal?
SOS Ohio is currently working with the following organizations. To schedule an appointment for surgery, please contact them directly.
- Capital Area Humane Society, ph. 614-777-7387.
Contact person is Rayn at rayn@cahs-pets.org. Clinics are on Saturdays. - Cat Welfare, ph. 614-268-6096 ask for Gail. Cats only.
- Save the Wild Side. For German Village residents only. Contact person in Jeanne Tranter at tranterpr@earthlink.net.
The fee schedule is as follows:
Dog Spay $75
Dog Castration $55
Cat Spay $45
Cat Castration $25
In Heat/ Pregnant +$10 (at the surgeon's discretion)
Pyometra +$10 (at surgeon's discretion) + cost of antibiotics
Additional minor procedures (example, simple mammary gland tumor, minor mass removal, necessary dental extraction, etc.) to be determined on case-by-case basis.

Canine Distemper $5
Feline Distemper $5
