Thanks to generous grant funding from PetSmart Charities, Inc. and the
ASPCA, SOS of Ohio was able to purchase and
customize a full-size 3/4 ton cargo van to be used exclusively for
transport of animals from areas that do not have access to
affordable spay/neuter services.
Transports are arranged by community groups, humane societies
and rescue groups. SOS of Ohio then travels up to 200 miles to
pick-up unaltered animals. These animals are transported to our
clinic for spay or neuter surgery then returned to their shelters
or owners, all in the course of one day. Through this program, SOS
of Ohio is able to reach animals, families and rescue groups that
would otherwise be unable to access such services.
