SOS of Ohio accepts truly feral, humanely trapped cats for spay/neuter surgery without an appointment any day we are open, Tuesday - Friday, between the hours of 8am and 3pm. Cats will then be available for pick up the same day between 5 and 6pm.

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW

BEFORE TRAPPING A FERAL CAT.

In order to bring a feral cat in for surgery, the following procedures must be followed:

• If you can handle the cat:
   

  THEN IT IS NOT CONSIDERED FERAL.

  Please schedule an appointment to bring in the cat. We hold special appointment spaces for these animals and will do our best to schedule them within 1-3 days of your call.

  
  

• SOS of Ohio requires that feral cats must arrive in traps and that there be only one animal per trap for the safety our staff, the cats and for you as well.

• If at all possible, trap the morning you plan to bring a feral cat in for spay/neuter surgery.

  Trapping in the morning will reduce the amount of time the cat is in the trap. Truly feral cats become extremely stressed and can spike dangerously high temperatures if they remain in a trap for an extended period of time.

  
  

• Bring the feral cat in IMMEDIATELY after trapping if you catch the feral cat in the morning or early afternoon.
  
  

• SOS of Ohio requires that feral cats receive a rabies vaccination at the time of surgery.
  
  

• Feral cats can also receive an ear tip at no additional charge.
   

  An ear tip is a procedure in which the tip of the cat's left ear is removed. This is a universal symbol that will let other trappers know that the cat has already been spayed or neutered. The cat can then be released and will not have to endure the stress of being in a trap or go under anesthesia or receive unnecessary surgery.

  
  

• We accept feral cats in traps without an appointment Tuesday through Friday, 8am - 3pm.
  
  

• The feral cat will be available for pick up the same day between 5 - 6pm. Payment for surgery must be made at pick up.
